So read along here if you are curious and learn more about how you can make your own scooter by choosing the various components and putting them together to create the scooter that works best for you and looks exactly the way you want want it.

Know all the components you need to make your personal custom scooter

In order to build your own scooter yourself, there are some things that you cannot do without. As a general rule, the quality of the individual elements is related to the price you have to pay for the part. We would recommend that you sit down and make a budget for how much money you can or want to spend on making the perfect custom scooter to your liking - but if that is not entirely possible, we recommend , that you should consider buying a complete scooter home from our webshop, which you can then replace some of the individual parts with based on your needs for setup and style.

For a custom scooter that you want to build from scratch, you must use these parts as a minimum:

bar - clamp - deck - fork - grip tape - headset - wheel - handle - ball bearings

We have different versions of several of the parts, which give you the opportunity to design yourself how your scooter should look. Therefore, make sure to choose some parts in colors that you think look good together. Some like a custom scooter best, where the parts are kept within the same color spectrum, while others like to use some contrasting colors that complement each other. Both parts can actually look extremely cool. But it is ultimately you who chooses your style and your expression – that is one of the best things about making your own scooter.

  • Tips for choosing all the right parts for your custom scooter from the start

One of the most important things is to make sure that the parts you buy for the home fit together properly. When you click on the products, you will be able to see all the technical specifications that are relevant to you when choosing parts that are compatible with each other. Here, for example, it is particularly important that your bar has the right diameter and that your wheels have the exact right size in relation to the deck and fork you have chosen or will subsequently choose.

At ScootWorld, our specialists in scooters and the associated parts are of course always ready to help you choose all the right parts that fit together and give you the result you are looking for. That is why you are more than welcome to contact us - either by coming into our brand new store, where you also have the opportunity to see the individual parts before you buy them - or by calling us within our opening hours.

Of course, our personal service never costs you extra, and it is your guarantee that you will get the best scooter when you shop with us. Because we don't necessarily help you in the direction of what we ourselves think is cool - we help you find the product that you can get the most pleasure from and that meets your wishes and requirements. This also applies if you want help or guidance to get started making your own scooter.

  • How to build your own scooter?

Once you have decided to make your own scooter, we recommend that you start with the most basic. Of course, you also need to have some tools at hand. But all the tasks can be solved with standard Allen keys. Your deck is what you have to stand on and the element that has to carry and be in contact with most of the other parts that your custom scooter consists of. Therefore, choose the tire first, as it is the entire skeleton for the rest of your scooter. Remember to research the different wheel sizes and specifications before choosing. Several of the models are available in many different colours, which you can see by clicking on each individual deck in our range.

The next thing you should look for and decide on is the front fork. With front fork and deck (and later also wheels) you have a solid foundation for the assembly of parts that must be able to handle the greatest load. The front fork is mounted quite simply by leading it up through the tube at the front of your deck. Next, you must choose your bar (also called the T-bar), which you use to control the scooter. These are also available in a multitude of different colors and designs, which give you the opportunity to make your custom scooter very personal and super cool.

  • A custom scooter takes shape

At the bottom of your bar, you mount your clamp, which must then be connected to your front fork, which you have led up through the front tube of your deck. Here you can choose between clamps with different strengths, which are represented by different amounts of screws. The more, the stronger. Simple as that. Tighten the clamp while your bar and fork are aligned. After this, all the large parts are actually assembled.

Wheels, which are the next thing to be fitted, are available in both spoked and solid designs. The wheels are often supplied with ball bearings and spacers, so you do not need to buy them, although it is always nice to have extra ball bearings in stock if you practice your hobby diligently and want a scooter that always rolls perfectly.

The last thing to install are your grips and your grip tape. Choose grips that are soft and gentle on the hands if you are the type who likes to ride and challenge yourself for hours. Griptape is easily mounted like a large sticker on the upper side of your deck - and then you are actually ready to roll!
